On May 21, 2025, CINEA organised the second cluster event for all the sister Coordination and Support Actions (CSAs) funded under the D2-01-07 Horizon Europe call.

Similarly to the first successful one (held in April 2024 – see here), the event was organised in CINEA’s headquarter in Brussels.

The event was an occasion to hear about the latest updates on the Innovation Fund, to showcase the work done within each CSA and to provide precious feedback to the European Commission on the lessons learnt during the past year and a half.

The event, moderated by Javier Sanchez Lopez (Project Adviser at CINEA), the contact point from the Commission responsible to oversee the 5 CSAs, started with a general introduction by Peter Petrov, acting Head of Unit at CINEA, followed by a comment on the expectations of the European Commission in relation to the results of the 5 CSAs, presented by Philip Hawkins, Policy officer at DG CLIMA. Philip also gave an overview on the latest updates on the Innovation Fund in terms of preliminary results and prospective changes.

He was then followed by Agata PRZADKA, Coordination and Analysis Manager at CINEA, who presented a detailed analysis of the Innovation Fund “Knowledge sharing annual report: De-risking innovative low-carbon technologies” (Knowledge Sharing – European Commission), including the main insights from IF applicants on the challenges they met and the most effective mitigation measures adopted.

The second part of the event was instead dedicated to a more interactive exchange, allowing the 5 CSAs to present their work to draft and define an innovation pipeline from R&I results to deployment within each of their sectors, and answering to the questions of colleagues and the European Commission.

The discussion took longer than expected since most of the people attending the event took the chance to provide useful feedback and to ask questions, enriching each other’s presentations.

The event was then concluded by discussing the main challenges emerged in each CSA’s work, starting from the inputs received by the Commission in the past year, and planning the next joint Communication and Dissemination actions, presented by Celine Suchet (EUREC – REALIZE).
