The Innovation Fund workshop held on the 18th of June offered a thorough examination of the fund’s features, selection standards and application procedure. An introduction to the Innovation Fund, including its features for 2023 and planned changes for 2024, as well as examples of successfully funded projects and readily available resources like tutorials and FAQs, marked the beginning of the event.
The selection process and award criteria, along with statistical takeaways from prior calls and typical causes of application failures, were then explained to the participants. The workshop also addressed greenhouse gas (GHG) calculation techniques, emphasising the particulars of the energy storage and hydrogen industries.
After a coffee break, the workshop covered pertinent cost calculations and methodology and then offered helpful guidance on creating Innovation Fund applications, including the best time frames and essential submission documents.
In the afternoon H2IF hosted its first General Assembly, where all Work Package Leaders presented their timeline, achievements, ongoing and future activities, common cluster actions and risks.
We expressed our gratitude to each and every partner who attended and contributed, making the event more insightful. Stimulating discussions were held, thanks to the precious exchanges between industrial partners and funding consultancies, paving the way towards quality applications and the definition of an innovation pipeline to support the whole energy storage and hydrogen sectors in scaling up their research results to Innovation Fund readiness.
