(LATE EDIT) On February 26, 2026, H2IF project coordinator Federico Spadaro (CLERENS) was invited to attend the “Strategic Directions for the Heating & Cooling Transition” workshop, and presented the H2IF project and its latest results.
The event, organised by DHC+ Platform, focused on examining the current and upcoming legislative framework for district heating and cooling, alongside trends in investment in the DHC sector.
Speakers and participants featured policy makers, investors, public authorities, representatives of associations and NGOs, and the debate was enriched by the different points of view on projects’ feasibility and expectations, especially from EU institutions and investors.
One of the sessions also covered the Innovation Fund as a tool for market deployment, highlighting the main hurdles that it entails and how the lack of financial maturity is not only an obstacle to obtaining the IF grant per se, but to credibly demonstrate solidity and readiness to external private investors, and especially banks.
Project Coordinator Federico Spadaro presented the H2IF project during a session dedicated to relevant projects and their results, briefly introducing the project, its objectives and scope, and providing an overview of the main project outcomes available so far (e.g., the selection methodology, the tools available through public deliverables, etc.) and what can be expected by the end of the project. Overall, H2IF collected a lot of interest from participants.
